Christianity has an image problem. There is a growing trend in America where people’s perceptions on Christians have gone from positive to negative. What is the cause of this? Should we care?
There is a book out called “unchristian” by David Kinnaman (President of The Barna Group) and Gabe Lyons (Founder of the Fermi Project) who have put over 3 years of research and conducted thousands of interviews of 16-29 year olds to find out how our generation perceives Christians and Christianity. The results are shocking.
For our Gathering’s on April 3 and April 17 we are going to look, discuss, share, talk, and find ways to respond to these negative perceptions that our generation has on us as Christians and realign ourselves with the mission that Christ gave us.
Consider reading the book. Check out our link to an article done by the Willow Creek Association with Lyons and Kinnaman that will give you a good introduction to what is going on. Also check out the website devoted to the book.
Let’s take a look in the mirror at ourselves and let’s look at Christianity from the outside.
